To submit a substitute teacher application, please follow these steps:
- Submit an online application to include at least 2 Professional References (Former Supervisors) with email addresses. Please note: References from friends and relatives are not acceptable.
- Request copies of high school diploma/GED certificate or college/university OFFICIAL transcripts and attach to your application.
- If you have a Current Georgia Teaching Certificate, attach a copy to your application.
- If you do not hold a Current Georgia Teaching Certificate or have a copy of a diploma from a Substitute Training Course you must do the following:
Online Substitute Training Course: The Substitute Online Training Course is $39.95 per person and can be purchased online with a VISA or MasterCard. The course is designed by Utah State University Substitute Teaching Institute and delivered by STEDI.org. You must complete the online Substitute Training Course with a composite passing score of 85%. You will be required to upload the SubDiploma to your Harris County School District application.
The procedure used in processing the applications is as follows: Once your online application is completed, email Tracy Munoz at firstname.lastname@example.org so that your application can be reviewed and finalized. After all requirements are complete you will be contacted to schedule an appointment to complete a Criminal Background Check (to include fingerprints).
